The 2008 Limestoner Comp

Summary

Thanks again to everyone who helped make this year's Limestoner another great success. The Limestoner has become CTM's most important fundraiser to benefit climbing here in Central Texas, and with so much of the hardware maintenance done at Reimers and the Greenbelt, we are donating this year's proceeds to the Access Fund and for some local projects designed to benefit at-risk and under privileged youth.

The official totals are not all in yet, but it looks like we've cleared $3,000 again this year! With 70 competitors, attendance was on par with the last few years (86 last year and 68 in 2006). Our special guest, Boone Speed, was a real crowd pleaser with both his climbing clinic on Sunday and his slide show Saturday night. Merrick Ales' slide show was an excellent recap of the day's events, done in his usual artistic style. And this year, Erik Moore contributed to the show as well with his clever time-lapse view of the busy climbing areas.

The generous support of our sponsors allows us to continue to award great prizes and have valuable items at the silent auction table. All in all, it was another successful Limestoner for us and a lot of fun for all.

Thanks ya'll!

Thanks to Erik Moore & Mike Jablin for these photos of the event.
